| Tower/Ladder 842 is the only aerial of its kind on the east side of Kalamazoo County . If there is a major incident on the east side, 842 will probably be there. It also has been called into the City of Kalamazoo on major incidents. The original 842 was built by Sutphen in 1976. In 2007 KTFD had a new chassis built by Sutphen and after a complete inspection and testing, the turntable and ladder section was taken off the old chassis and put on the new chassis. It has served Kalamazoo Twp. And Kalamazoo County well in the past and will continue to do so for years to come. |
