HOWLAND TOWNSHIP, OH -- Trumbull Co 9-1-1 received multiple calls for an attached garage fire at 2536 Elm
Rd, MABAS Box 3211 was transmitted sending Sta30,31,32 and R11 from Bazetta Fire. Due to the location of
the incident, the City of Warren FD also respond to the structure fire responding with: Squad 1, Ladder 1,
Engine 5 and A/C 11. Howland Eng 32 arrived onscene with a working fire from an attached garage. Other
units arrived onscene and went to work, making a few nice vent holes on the roof. The fire was u/c at 0958.

WEST LAMPETER TOWNSHIP, PA -- On Friday June 6th, The Rescue Local was transmitted to the area of
Willow Street Pike and Golf Road for the reported PIC w/People trapped. Rescue Squad 512, Engine Company
54 along with EMS arrived reporting a two vehicle crash with one patient confined in a small 4 door car.
Crews removed the drivers door to free the driver and transferred care to EMS.

STRASBURG BOROUGH, PA -- This weekend the 88th annual Lancaster County Fireman's Convention was
held in the Borough of Strasburg. Events kicked off Friday with an award and memorial presention for
deceased members of the LCFA. They were honored along with awards for crews in the County going beyond
the call of duty. On Saturday, Bright and Shiny units from all over the Lancaster County area and beyond
paraded down Main Street for over 2 hours. Next year the LCFA 89th Annual Convention will be held in

EPHRATA BOROUGH, PA -- Around 1805 Hours on Saturday June 7th, BOX 15 was transmitted to 145 West
Sunset Avenue for the reported house on fire. Units from Company 15 and EMS from 112 were advised of a
reported kitchen on fire. Captain 15 arrived on scene reporting light smoke showing from a 2.5 Story
Dwelling, Engine 15-1 arrived and deployed an 1 3/4 handline under the orders of command. Moments later
interior reported the fire out with light smoke inside the residence. Crews from Company 15 vented the

CITY OF CHESTER, PA -- Chester Fire Department was dispatched for a
building fire in the area of 11th and Kerlin Street with reported
entrapment. Medic 100 arrived on scene and reported heavy fire
showing from the 2nd floor and reported negative entrapment. Engine
82-1 made quick work of the fire with minor extension into the cock
loft. Tower 82 opened up while Squirt 81 brought in a backup line.

LARGO, MD -- At 1632 hrs Rescue Engine 33 was alerted for a reported accident on the Outerloop of the
Capital Beltway at Central Avenue. Units arrived to find a two car accident with victims in the median, hastily
removed by by-standers. Although extreme damage was done to the vehicle, including a guardrail through
the entire care, the patients had minor injuries and were transported to PG Hospital.

DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA -- While Engine 30 was running medical locals, Truck 17 was taking a break when a
citizen ran up to the firehouse an said, " MY VAN IS BURNING." Truck 17 alerted communications about the
blaze. Engine 19 was dispatched on run but Engine 30 became available so they responded.

DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA -- Around 12:30 this morning (06/07), units from The Heights were dispatched to the
intersection of 50th and East Capitol Street SE for a reported motor vehicle accident with one trapped and
car on fire. Units arrived on the scene and reported a two car MVA with one person trapped and vehicle fire
also. As firefighters were extinguishing the fire in the engine compartment of the Van firefighters from
Rescue Squad 3 was able to extricate the driver of the white Dodge Charger who was unconscious and not

CRAIGMOOR, WV -- At 00:07 on Monday June 9th, Company 7 (Nutter Fort VFD), Engine 121 (Stonewood VFD),
and Engine 11 (Anmoore VFD) were alerted for a Structure Fire on Steven's Run Road in Craigmoor. Engine
71 (w/5) hit the street 1 minute later. E71 arrived on scene at 00:16 and advised HC911 of a working storage
garage on fire with heavy fire showing through the roof. Crews pulled a 1 ¾ inch cross lay off of 71 and made
entry into the structure. Crews then discovered that stored in the garage were several lawn mowers, golf
carts, and other garden care equipment. E73 (w/3) and Tanker 7 arrived on scene and began to supply E71
with water and provided manpower. STVFD E121 (w/5), U126 (w/2), AVFD E12 (w/6), and Anmoore VFD
Ambulance 17 arrived on scene shortly after. Crews made a quick knock on the fire containing it within 20
minutes. Other personal on scene assisted with salvage and overhaul and hitting hot spots. All units went
ready at 01:29. The cause of the fire is under investigation by the WV State Fire Marshal's Office.

WEST LAMPETER TOWNSHIP, PA -- On Tuesday June 10th, While the county was being pounded by storms and
multiple 911 calls, BOX 512 was transmitted to 2091 Hollinger Road for the reported house fire. While units
were en route, Communications advised the caller had heavy smoke coming from the basement, Company
512 arrived reporting an active basement fire in a 2.5 Story wood frame house. All hands went to work to put
a quick knock on the fire, crews vented the house and checked for extension. Crews operated for over 1

Crews Get Pounded During Storms, Lancaster County, PA 06.10.2008

PEQUEA TOWNSHIP, PA -- Around 2258Hrs. On Thursday June 12th, The rescue local was transmitted to the
intersection of Route 272 South @ Baumgardner Road for the reported PIC w/people trapped. Rescue Squad
512 arrived reporting a 2 vehicle PIC with one trapped. Crews went to work to free and aid the trapped
patient which was in critical condition. Crews spent about 14 minutes cutting to extricated the patient from
the vehicle. Crew remained on the scene to assist Police Department with their investigation.

CITY OF CHESTER, PA -- The Companies were dispatched to 24 East 24th Street for a dwelling fire at 13:49
hrs. Chester-11 arrived on scene with a 3 story twin smoke showing from side A. Engine 82 led off with a 1 3/4
hand-line through the front door and were met with fire in the hallway and front bedroom. Tower 82 opened
up and Squirt 81 assisted both crews. Fire was knocked down in first 10 minutes and crews remained in
service just under 2 hours. Fire is under investigation by Chester-17 and no injuries reported.

Working Duplex Fire, Delaware County, PA 06.10.2008

CAERNARVON TOWNSHIP, PA -- At 12:05 AM, The Twin Valley Fire Department was alerted to assist Lancaster
County Station 34 (Churchtown) with a reported building fire at the Conestoga Mennonite Church at 2976
Main Street, Caernarvon Township, Lancaster County. Deputy 34 (D.Martin) was first on the scene, and
confirmed a working fire in the south wing of the church. Heavy fire was visible from miles away as units
from Honey Brook and Goodville were called in to assist. Engine 34-1 arrived, and attempted to make an
aggressive interior attack, but were hindered buy a partially collapsed roof. Ladder 69 arrived, and took a
staging point at the southern end of the church. It was decided early to back everyone out, and attempt to
knock down the bulk of the fire from the exterior with handlines and a 2 1/2" step gun. Once the bulk of the
fire was knocked down, crews re-entered the structure and mopped up the hotspots. Quick actions by the
local volunteer firefighters saved this church from burning completely to the ground. Fire personnel
encountered heavy fire conditions that almost consumed the entire south wing, and managed to save the
chapel and east wing with only minor smoke damage. All units were clear at 3:50 AM.

SUSQUEHANNA COUNTY, PA -- After a very busy weekend, the crews from 18 picked up the pace with a
dispatch at 0210hrs Monday morning when the Ladder was dispatched to a 2nd alarm assignment in area 42.
L18 responded and was assigned side C of the building in a tight alley. Crews were faced with a large
residential with heavy fire. Upon arrival the crew set up for ladder pipe operations along with L58 operating
on side A. Chief 18-2 (O’Rourke) was detailed to the side C sector officer for operations. 18-9 was special
called to the scene to assist in rehab. Captain 18 and crew worked with crews from Cottage and FCEMS. The
crew from 18 operated for approximately 90 minutes before clearing. Just before noon, the ladder headed to
Montrose to assist crews with a working commercial building fire on Rt706. The Ladder arrived and the crew
assisted United on the interior with overhaul. L18 was returned after a short time. At approximately 0515hrs,
Hop Bottom Fire, Thompson Amb and R18 were dispatched for a MVA with entrapment on SR92 just north of
Glenwood. T11 arrived on scene confirming one heavily entrapped. 18-1 arrived on scene in his POV and
requested the rescue expedite and provide a full deployment upon arrival. TE1 deployed their HRT and the
full deployment off R18 provided a rapid extrication and great teamwork between the departments At
approximately 2130 hrs, the box was struck for a working house fire on SR2067, Gibson Twp in Harford’s first
due. Ladder 18 arrived and positioned on side A with Chief 18-3 reporting the two story residential with
flames showing from all divisions. A second alarm was transmitted. TE1 arrived and worked the fire along
with the crew from 18 and Hop Bottom on the initial knock down. HBE1 laid out and LDH line to a nearby
stream for the primary water supply. NE1 picked up the center of the lay and supplied L18. HT3 established a
secondary supply via tanker shuttle with E611 providing a fill site. Crews worked for about two hours before
clearing. 18-9 established the rehab with Harford and Thompson ambulances standing by for transport. R7

LANDOVER HILLS, MD -- Just before midnight, as the crews from Bladensburg were getting ready for bed, the
tones dropped for 6701 Greenland St. (Landover Hills) for the house on fire. Engine and Truck Co. 9
responded on the run with 12 men. Company 9 (Bladensburg) arrived just behind 30 and had a "Split Foyer"
S/F/D with heavy fire showing from the 2nd floor and attic. Truck Co. 9 went in with the engine from 30 and
began searches as Engine Co. 9 deployed a back up line. Crews made a very aggressive attack and had the
bulk of the fire knocked within 10mins. Co. 9 cleared the scene at 0300hrs.

PUMPFIRE Travels Once Again, Central, PA 06.20.2008

KENNETT SQUARE, PA -- Kennett Fire Company and Ambulance 24-1 and MICU 25-3 responded to a vehicle
accident with entrapment, Vehicle reported into a house at North Union Street and Fairthorn Street in
Kennett Square around 06:00 hours on 6-24-08. Deputy 24 arrived to find one vehicle into a wall with the
driver trapped. The vehicle was heading south on Union and went thru a telephone pole and sheering fire
hydrant before coming to rest into a stone wall in the SE corner of intersection. The patient was extricated
and flown to Christiana Hospital by penn Star.

PIC w/One Trapped, Chester County, PA 06.24.2008

WARWICK TOWNSHIP, PA -- Late on Sunday
June 29th around 2153hrs., BOX Alarm 210 was
transmitted to #8 Santa Fe Drive for the
reported house on fire. On the First Alarm,
Companies 210, 115, 12, 15, 313 & 25 were
advised of by communications of multiple calls
of a vehicle on fire inside an attached garage
with the fire spreading to the home. D/C 210
arrived shortly afterwards in the area
reporting a well involved 2.5 story woodframe
single family dwelling and requested the 2nd
alarm be transmitted. Engine 210-1 went to
work deploying multiple handlines to the
house and protected exposure buildings as
the fire reached the attic of the home. Crews
battled the fire for about one hour to mark the
blaze under control. No injuries were reported
and believe to have started in a vehicle inside
the garage.

2 Alarm House Fire, Lancaster County, PA 06.29.2008

OLD SAYBROOK, CT -- Old Saybrook fire was dispatched to a lightning strike in the Borough of Chalker
Beach. Prior to arrival the police reported a working fire on the third floor, with smoke pushing out of the
closed windows. Engine 351 arrived and stretched an 1 3/4 attack line to the third floor to knock down the
fire that met them as they came up the stairs. Engine 352 secured the water supply, while 371 truck made the
roof and prepared to vent. ( It was here that the entrance for the lightning strike was found). Engine 353
responded from station coverage and arrived shortly after the attack line was stretched. Engine 3's crew
threw ladders while the half searched the third floor and assisted with ventilation and overhaul. RIC was
provided by the crew of Heavy Rescue 996 from the town of Clinton. While mutual aid engines from

WEST EARL TOWNSHIP, PA -- On Monday June 30th, The rescue local was transmitted to the area of Route 272
and North Conestoga View Drive for the reported PIC w/One trapped. Engine Companies 313, 12 and Rescue
Squad 115 along with EMS from 112 and Medic 4 were advised of a 2 car crash with one female reported
trapped with chest pains. Patrol car 72-6(Akron PD) arrived on scene reporting negative entrapment in front
of the Piero's Italian Restaurant. Engine 313-1 was advised of the Police Departments report and requested a
second BLS unit while placing Rescue Squad 115 in service. Crews from 313 and 12 assisted EMS, and
controlled hazards. All units went ready in about 30 minutes.

Crash Brings Multiple Injuries, Lancaster County, PA 06.30.2008

JOHNSTON TOWNSHIP, OH -- At 1323 Johnston Station 29 was dispatched to a MVA reported to involve a tree
and a semi. Medic Sq 291, Engine 29 and Rescue 29 all responded to the call, at 1331 Lt. Ken Quigley arrived
on scene reporting a Semi Truck w/ a Tanker attached that had a tree fall onto the cab of the truck. The
tanker attached was loaded with anhydrous ammonia, luckily the truck had off loaded the product at a local
farm, and was only carrying approx. 100 lbs, the only damage to the tanker was found on the front fender!
The Driver was self extricated from the cab, but was still transported to a local trauma center for evaluation.
Units operated on scene assisting the Ohio State Highway Patrol and PUCO Haz-Mat with traffic control.
