EAST DRUMORE TOWNSHIP, PA -- On Saturday November 1st, at 20:57 Hours, BOX Alarm 57 was transmitted to
the 200 Block of Locust Lane in East Drumore Township for the reported barn on fire. Units from
57(Quarryville), 513(Robert Fulton) and ChesCo 21(Oxford) were advised by Communications of multiple
reports of a working barn fire in the area. Chief 57-2(Ryan) arrived on scene to find 2 large barns well off with
multiple exposures and took the '57' command. Engine 51-1(Bart) ran from Chester County's 21 House as
Rescue Squad 21 as the rapid intervention crew as Company 57 arrived putting all hands to work. Engine
57-4 deployed multiple lines to protect exposures and attempted to knock down the bulk of the fire in the
2nd barn. Crews ran into water supply issues early into the incident as weeds at the pond draft site kept
clogging the strainers on the hard sleeve. Command requested four add'l tankers be added to the first alarm
assignment as a more reliable water source was needed. All hands on scene worked with their heaviest
lines for hours to make a knock on the fire. Command reported 2 barns were completely destroyed, along
with several thousand bales of hay and other implements and farming equipment. No injuries were reported
as all units went ready in the early morning hours.

Quarryville Starts Off The Month w/Two Well Off, Lancaster County PA 11.01.2008
PORTER TOWNSHIP, PA -- This afternoon Station 17 along with Stations 5 (Dunnstown), 21 (Goodwill Hose
EMS) and Centre 16 (Walker Twp.) were alerted to Box 17-20, 73 Fishing Creek Road, Porter Township for a
report of an ATV rolled over with entrapment. Rescue 17-62 responded with a crew of four (4) and Engine
17-1 with two (2). After some confusion on the address, Clinton Communications confirmed the address to be
73 Furnace Road, and not Fishing Creek Road. Units arrived on scene to find one (1) ATV rolled over an
embankment into a tree, with one patient out of the vehicle, and another pinned under the ATV. Crews began
working to stabalize the vehicle with chain come-alongs, ratchet straps and cribbing, and after the vehicle
was safely secured, medical personnel began patient care. It was determined the patient trapped under the
ATV had succumbed to his injuries (Class 4). The 2nd patient refused treatment at the scene. At this time,
command placed Rescues 5-63 and 1618 available, as Company 17 could handle patient extrication, and
Geisinger LifeFlight 4 could cancel their airborne stand-by as they were flying over the scene due to being
en route to a training session in the area. Command then requested Furnace Road be closed down at Silver
Avenue and Washington Avenue. Crews remained on the scene for nearly two (2) hours assisting the
Pennsylvania State Police with their investigation and patient extrication, in which the O-Tool and additional
cribbing was used to complete the task. Personnel also assisted  Tressler's Towing & Recovery Service with
the vehicle recovery. Command placed the box in service at 16:56 hours.

One Trapped Under ATV, Clinton County, PA 11.02.2008
CITY OF CHESTER, PA -- At 12:22hrs the Department was transmitted to 1113 Madison Street for the reported
building on fire. Chester 11 arrived first and reported a 2 Story MOD with fire showing from the rear. Engine
82-1 established a water supply and went in service with an 1 3/4 water line as the Tower opened up and
performed searches on the 1st and 2nd floors. Chester 11 then struck the 2nd alarm as he ordered the
Squrts crew to place another line in service as a back up. The fire was marked under control at 13:00hrs.

City BOX Goes Two, Delaware County, PA 11.03.2008
CENTRE TOWNSHIP, PA -- On Monday Nov 3rd around 22:30 Hours, The Berks County 911 started getting calls
for a structure fire in the area of 87 Upper Loop Road and dispatched the first alarm companies. As units was
signing on air, Capt 37 A/O/S reporting working fire in trailer possible vacant with exposures. Fire Units
arrived had heavy fire in a single wide trailer 15 x 45 with heavy fire to the middle of the structure. Union Fire
Company of Leesport was first arriving engine initated 2 attack lines with an exterior attack and knocked
bulk of the fire down. Further units arrived including tankers due to this being rural area with no hydrants.
Companies performed extensive overhaul due to the large amount of debris in the trailer. No injuries were
reported.

One Well Off On Arrival, Berks County, PA 11.03.2008
Working Apartment Building w/People Trapped, Prince Georges County, MD 11.01.2008
HELLAM TOWNSHIP, PA -- At 11:22, the Wrightsville Volunteers were alerted to the area of S. Front Street in
Wrightsville for an injury crash involving a motorcycle. Both rescues out of 41 were on the street with 13 in
one minute, with 2 standing by in-house. Nothing was found, and Rescue 2 proceeded to N. Front St. and
arrived on scene to find one vehicle vs. a tree, vehicle split in half. There were two class II patients, and one
class I. Rescue 41-2 assisted BLS 41 with patient care. Rescue 41-1 and Engine 21 (Hellam) assessed the
other two patients, until turned over to 77 and 42 BLS. Crews remained on scene until the remains of the
vehicle were removed.

One Ripped In Half, York County, PA 11.02.2008
EAST DONEGAL TOWNSHIP, PA -- Shortly after 03:00 hours the Engine from 41 was dispatched with the 1st
alarm assignment for a barn fire on the 1300 block of Donegal Creek road in East Donegal Township. Engine
41 went enroute with a crew of five. The sky above 41 was glowing red upon response. Chief 79 arrived on
the scene to find a barn well involved with multiple exposures. Engine 41 arrived and dumped 1000' feet of
5" supply line and then setup a draft site in a creek near the barn to supply Tanker 71. While on scene crews
assisted in fire suppression and lighting operations.  After the hose was packed up, the 41 Engine went
available in about 7 hours.

Barn Well Off On Arrival, Lancaster County, PA 11.03.2008
LANDOVER, MD -- At approx. 0345 hours, the BOX alarm was dispatched for the apartment on fire at 6407
Landover Road in the Hanson Arms section of Kentland. Engine Company 33, Rescue Engine 33(as the 2nd
due engine) and Chief 33A responded on the run with nine volunteers. Engine Company 33 arrived, laid-in a
supply line and found smoke showing from a ground level apartment. The crew stretched the 250-foot
pre-connect and made entry into the building. Rescue Engine 33 arrived next, completed the wagon's (E33)
water supply and advanced a 650-foot pre-connect from their apparatus to back-up Engine Company 33.
Crews from Kentland 33 located fire in apartment 101 and extinguished the same. With a good amount of
smoke filling the building and time of day, persons living above the fire apartment became cut off from the
interior stairwell. Due to this fact, most residents evacuated to balconies. Quint Company 22 and Truck
Company 9 assisted individuals from the building via those egress points in the front and rear. With the fire
knocked down quickly and all residents checked for injuries, Command (Chief 33A) held units from Company
33 and Truck Company 9. The truck was returned a while later and units from 33 remained to overhaul and
assist the investigations unit.

CITY OF CHESTER, PA -- The Chester Fire Department
was dispatched to 2714 Nolan St for smoke coming from
the building. Chester-11 (T. Capasso) arrived first to
find a 2 story twin with smoke showing from the 2nd
floor. Squrt 81 was the next to arrive, the crew lead off
with a 1 3/4 water line and found a bedroom fire on side
A on the 2nd floor. Engine 822 opened up and
performed a search while Engine 821 stood by the
hydrant and the crew stood by as the RIT Team. The fire
was placed under control in 30 minutes.

Smoke Showing On Arrival, Delaware County, PA 11.07.2008
EAST EARL TOWNSHIP, PA -- On Monday November 10th around 14:20 Hours, The street assignment was
transmitted to the 800 Block of Wallace Road for the reported vehicle vs. farm machinery in East Earl
Township. Units from the Blue Ball Volunteer Fire Company (32) along with EMS from New Holland Ambulance
(39) and Ephrata Hospital's Medic 9 were advised of a vehicle vs. a combine with the patient in the vehicle to
be unconscious. After the updated information, with units still en route, communications advised companies
of calls of the patient reportedly trapped and upgraded the assignment. Communications quickly transmitted
the Rescue Local adding Rescue Squad 39(Liberty) to the extrication assignment. Chief 32 arrived shortly
after the upgrade reporting one vehicle under a combine with confirmed entrapment at the intersection of
Ranck Road and Reservoir Road in the Township. Engine 32-2 arrived with orders to start patient extrication
and hazard control. The Crew from Engine 32-2 started to box crib the combine as the patient was trapped in
the car, under the combines shears. Command requested a the second due Rescue Squad (Goodville) and
Aero Medical(Skycare) be added to the assignment as crews continued to work. EMS crews requested FD
Crews do a rapid extrication of the patient from the vehicle as the patient started to deteriorated. Crews
lifted the dash off of the patient and had the patient removed shortly after words. Engine 49-1 was
transmitted and had the landing zone command as Skycare landed near the crash scene. EMS crews
transferred care of the priority one patient to the aero medical crew which flew to a local trauma center.
Companies wrapped up operations, completed the extrication and had the patient flown with-in 18 minute
after dispatch.

One Trapped Under A Combine, Lancaster County, PA 11.10.2008
WRIGHTSVILLE BOROUGH, PA -- At 06:31, the 41-01 box was struck for a residential structure fire on the 400
Block of N. 3rd St. in Wrightsville. Engine 41 went enroute with four in two minutes under the direction of
assistant chief Groft. Engine 41 arrived on scene to find heavy fire to the rear of the residence on division 2
and the attic. Crews advanced lines to the 2nd floor and also began a primary search which proved to be
negative. A  Crews from 21 began assisting in fire suppression with the Tower from 81 opened up the roof.
After a majority of the fire was knocked down, mutual aid companies began assisting in overhaul operations.
Engine 41 and Truck 81 remained on scene until investigation was complete and went available in just over 3
hours.

2 Alarm House Fire, York County, PA 11.11.2008
LEACOCK TOWNSHIP, PA -- On Saturday November 15th, BOX Alarm 44 was transmitted to the area of 435
Centerville Road in Leacock Township for the reported house on fire. Lancaster County Communications
advised the first alarm companies of multiple reports of a working house fire next to a commercial building.
With units on the BOX Alarm being brought up, Chief 44 reported to communications he was about one mile
out with heavy smoke showing in the distance and requested the 2nd alarm be transmitted. Companies
started to arrive reporting heavy fire showing from multiple areas of the home and the next door cheese
making business. Crews went to work to control the blaze with command getting reports of one person down
on the Charlie side of the building. Command requested a medic and Aero-medical unit be added to the
assignment as conflicting reports of serious injuries were being reported. The person was removed from
danger and was assessed by emergency crews. Command got an updated assessment by crews then had
aero-medical stand down as the patient did not need to be flown. Companies worked for about two hours to
control the blaze as add'l EMS units arrived to assist with rehab.

Heavy Fire On Arrival w/One Down, Lancaster County, PA 11.15.2008
HYATTSVILLE, MD -- In the wee hours of the morning on November 18th, the BOX alarm was transmitted for,
well, several different addresses for a reported house on fire. After the units split up in search of the fire
building, Ladder 9
[Bladensburg], with 6 Volunteers found the correct location, 3508 37th Avenue[55's first
due] and reported heavy fire throughout a S/F/D and went to work. A lady in the area of the front yard was
screaming that there was someone inside, so the first arriving unit, Ladder 9, without a handline in place,
aggressively went in to search. Fire conditions proved to be too severe, and the men had to back out.
Shortly into the incident, command [Chief 7A] called for the fire task force, as well as the evacuation tones
be sounded and exterior operations until the fire was knocked and conditions were safe for interior
operations. 3 exposure buildings received damage, and all searches came up negative.

Ladder 9 Arrives w/One Well Off, PG County, MD 11.18.2008
WARWICK TOWNSHIP, PA -- On the morning of November 20th, The Rescue local was transmitted to the area
of the 1500 Block of Rothsville Road in Warwick Township for the report PIC with possible people trapped.
Lancaster County Communications advised units from Rothsville Fire(210), East Petersburg Fire/Rescue(23)
along with EMS units from Rothsville (210) and Warwick Medic 12 of a reported crash involving an oil
delivery tanker and a vehicle with one person reportedly trapped in the car. Chief 210 arrived shortly after
the update confirming one person heavily trapped in a 4 door vehicle after hitting an oil waste tanker head
on. Engine 210-1 was ordered on arrival to start rescue operations of the person trapped while EMS crews
tended to the patient. EMS crews reported to command that with the extended extrication time, the patient
would require aero-medical transport. Command requested Aero-medical be dispatched and fly direct to the
scene for one patient. Crews from Engine 210-1 and Squad 210 Displaced and removed the drivers side door
and roof as Rescue Squad 23 arrived to assist them with pushing the dash to free the patient. Companies
extricated the patient from the wreckage and transferred care to the crew of Medevac 8 which landed in the
field next to the scene. Crews went ready in about 2 hours after they completed fluid and hazard clean up
from the waste oil tanker.

One Flown After Being Trapped, Lancaster County, PA 11.20.2008
SPRINGFIELD, PA -- Around 02:00 Hours on Thursday
November 20th, The BOX alarm was transmitted to the
area of the 600 Block of West Springfield Road for the
fire investigation. Units on the ticket were advised by
fire board that a passing Clifton Heights Police Officer
was in the area and reported a smoke/odor
investigation in the area. Fire crews arrived in the area
to find heavy fire showing from the 2 story home.
Command transmitted the 2nd Alarm as crews battled
with heavy fire and heat conditions. All hands worked
for over 3 hours to control the fire before going ready.

LEACOCK TOWNSHIP, PA -- On Thursday November 20th, The street assignment was transmitted to the area
of Route 772 and Queen Road in Leacock Township for the reported vehicle on fire. Crews from Company
44(Intercourse) arrived reporting one vehicle well off with exposures to a building. Crews made a quick
knock on the fire and went ready shortly after words with minor fire damage to the exposure building.

One Vehicle Well Off, Lancaster County, PA 11.20.2008
PARADISE TOWNSHIP, PA -- On Thursday November 20th, around 21:00 Hours, BOX Alarm 47 was transmitted
to 573 Strasburg Road for the reported barn on fire in Paradise Township. Companies on the first alarm
assignment from 47, 51, 510, 43, 45, 42 along with EMS from 612 were advised of multiple calls of a reported
barn on fire. Chief 47-3 was the first arriving officer reporting one large barn well off with multiple exposures
on arrival and took the Strasburg Road command. Moments later, Command transmitted the second alarm
along with extra tankers and Engine companies being added through-out the incident as water supply issues
arose. During the incident, all units went heavy duty and large amounts of LDH was laid to supply units
working the blaze. At one point, a water supply unit drafting at a creek reported to command that the creek
was unusable, as it was sucked dry by the large amounts of water being used. Command reported a total of
15 Tankers, 12 Engines, 1 Ladder, 3 Utilities/Squads and 2 EMS units were on scene for over 4 hours as over
1400 hogs were killed by the fast moving fire.

1,400 Hogs Killed During 2 Alarm Blaze, Lancaster County, PA 11.20.2008
RIVERDALE HEIGHTS, MD -- At 1130 hours on November 20th, E13 was dispatched to 6318 57th Avenue, in
Company 13's first due, for the house fire. The engine from Riverdale Heights (13) arrived first and advanced
a hoseline to the front door and then paused, to don their PPE and SCBA. The house was vacant and a small
fire could be seen in the front living room. The ladder tower from Riverdale (7) was the second to arrive,
almost at the same time as Riverdale Heights. The crew from Tower 7 donned their PPE and SCBA and
entered the dwelling to begin ventilation by removing windows.  As the engine crew from Riverdale Heights
prepared to enter the structure and extinguish the fire, their hoseline sustained damage from glass or
debris and broke; rendering it useless. As additional arriving companies stretched another hoseline into
position, a flashover occurred. The flashover occurred with the crew from Tower 7 inside. The crew quickly
exited the structure, some requiring assistance from other firefighters.  The fire was then out in about 10
minutes.  2 Firefighters sustained burn injuries and were transported to a Burn Unit. Fire Fighter Anthony
"Tony" Blazek, 27, and a 3-year volunteer member of the Riverdale Fire/EMS Station sustained 2nd and 3rd
degree burns about his face, neck and back. He has been admitted to the Burn Unit at the Washington
Hospital Center. His burn injuries are serious, however, not life-threatening. A second firefighter, Cory
Johnson, 23 years-of-age, 6-year volunteer member of the Riverdale Fire/EMS Station sustained minor burn
injuries and was treated and released from the Burn Unit. Fire Investigators believe the fire started in a
couch and was caused by vagrants improperly discarded cigarette.  Fire loss is estimated at $25,000.

FF's Burned During House Fire, PG County, MD 11.20.2008
WARWICK TOWNSHIP, PA -- On Saturday November 22nd, at approximately 18:14hrs police, fire & ems were
dispatched to the area of Route 222 between Cocalico Creek and the Manheim Township line for a reported
one vehicle crash with possible entrapment. It was reported to units en route that the vehicle had flipped
over with multiple patients. Upon arrival of fire personnel, there were a total of 4 patients, 2 adults & 2
juveniles with no entrapment. Crews from Companies 313, 24 and EMS from 38, 210 Medic 4 & 12 packaged
the patients and provided hazard control.

Rollover w/Multiple Injuries, Lancaster County, PA 11.22.2008
PEQUEA TOWNSHIP, PA -- On Saturday November 22nd, BOX Alarm 511 was transmitted to 2966 Shiprock Road
in Pequea Township for the reported building on fire. Units on the first alarm assignment were advised of
multiple calls of a working barn fire by Lancaster County Communications. Units arrived with a large barn well
off with multiple exposures and transmitted the second alarm with add'l tankers being added to the
assignment. Crews worked for hours to bring the blaze under control. Command reported a wood stove was
the cause of the fire causing over $150,000 in damages.

Another 2 Alarm Barn, Lancaster County, PA 11.22.2008
MILFORD TOWNSHIP, PA -- Co 3, Co 2, EMS 1 were called alerted to Milford Township to Rt 35 at the Iron
Horse Bed & Breakfast, for an MVA - vehicle overturned - Box 3-02. R29 responded w/7 and Chief 21-3 in the
seat, advised by JCCC 1 vehicle off the roadway, overturned, and did hit the structure. R29 arrived to find an
SUV on it's side, severe damage - with heavy entrapment. The SUV left the road, struck 2 trees, then the Bed
& Breakfast, coming to rest at the A/B corner of the structure. The roof was crushed down to almost nothing.
Vehicle was stabilized with Rut Struts and cribbing, 2 cutters, 1 spreader, 1 combo-tool and sawz-all were
deployed and extrication was started. (E22 also had a 100' 1 3/4" handline off) the entire roof was removed
and steering wheel briefly displaced. Pt was accessed by Fire/EMS  were the patient was not viable. The
Coroner was notified. R29 was on scene at 04:29hours, Extrication marked at 04:35 hours. The Bed &
Breakfast suffered moderate structural damage - the basement and 1st floor windows were blown out, and
the impact on the A/B corner destroyed the interior wall on Division 2. Property owner was o/s handling that.

Fatal Rollover w/One Into A Building, Juniata County, PA 11.22.2008
EAST MARLBOROUGH TOWNSHIP, PA -- On Monday, 11.24.08, Longwood Fire Company responded to a
reported building fire on Orchard Avenue in East Marlbough Twp, Chester County. Units were assisted on
the initial dispatch by Kennett Fire Company Station 24, Po-Mar-Lin Station 36. Units arrived with fire showing
from "Phillips Place" a commercial strip mall with an active fire in Serene Quest, Relaxation Store and
Wellness Center. Crews made quick work of the fire and had extensive overhaul of the store involved.
Additional units included Ladder 19 from Hokessin, Delaware, Engine from 21 for RIC as well as an Engine
from Avondale 23.

Fire Showing From A Commercial Strip Mall, Chester County, PA 11.24.2008
Two Jobs Back To Back, Harrison County, WV 11.24.2008
SUMMIT PARK, WV -- At 21:33 hours, Company 13 (Summit Park VFD), Engine 71 (Nutter Fort VFD), and Engine
121 (Stonewood VFD) were alerted for a Structure Fire on Murphy’s Run Road in Summit Park. Engine 71 (w/6-
Capt. Rohrbough) and Tanker 7 (w/2-FF Keith) hit the street 2 minutes later and arrived on scene at 21:42.
SPVFD Brush 13 arrived on scene advising a barn fully involved with a large amount of hay inside. E71 sent
their manpower up to the scene while T7 supplied units with water. Crews utilized B13’s booster line for fire
suppression while also pulling a 2 ½” attack line off of E132. Command 13 also requested, due to the remote
location of the barn, a brush unit task force to be alerted sending Brush 14 (Anmoore VFD), Unit 84
(Reynoldsville VFD), and Brush 11 (Spelter VFD) to the scene. Units also struggled with water supply due to
the remote area and the muddy uphill access road to the fire. 1 SPVFD firefighter was taken to the hospital by
Harrison County EMS for smoke inhalation. While units were operating on scene, at 22:39, Company 13
(Summit Park VFD), Engine 71 (Nutter Fort VFD), and Engine 121 (Stonewood VFD) were alerted for another
Structure Fire at 47 Tibbs Avenue in Summit Park near PK Addition. Engine 71 (w/5) authority of Chief 13
diverted from the barn fire to respond to the other call while Engine 72 (w/3-FF Louden) hit the street. E72
was the first arriving unit and found a 1-story dwelling with heavy flames visible from Side D and C. Crews
pulled an 1 ¾” attack line off of 72, forced through and made entry through the front door. E71 arrived on
scene seconds behind 72 and stretched a second 1 ¾” attack line through the front door. SPVFD E131 then
arrived on scene and requested that Engine 11 (Anmoore VFD), Engine 51 (Mt. Clare VFD), Engine 21
(Bridgeport VFD), and Engine 111 (Spelter VFD) to be alerted due to most crews committed to the barn fire.
Crews encountered heavy fire conditions while making entry but made a fast knockdown containing it within
15 minutes. Crews contained the barn fire and the 3 personal remaining at the barn fire and Tanker 7 went
ready at around midnight while after completing salvage and overhaul, 71 and 72 were both in service by 00:
25. During both incidents, RVFD Engine 81 transferred to Co. 13. Just goes to show you how dedicated our
volunteers are to what we do.

Working Mobile Home, Lancaster County, PA 11.29.2008
EAST HEMPFIELD TOWNSHIP, PA -- At 1151 hours, Company 67 along with units from 715 (Mountville), 65
(Millersville), and 68 (West Lancaster) were alerted to the 2900 block of Dell Lane in Trailer Village for a
mobile home on fire. Engine 671, Tower 67, and Lt. 671 (Nonnemacher) staffed with 13 were advised of a
stove fire and that the occupants were evacuating. The units from 67 arrived with smoke showing from the
mobile home. The crew from Engine 671 made a knock on the fire, with the tower crew assisting with opening

Townhome Goes To Two, Lancaster County, PA 11.26.2008
MANOR TOWNSHIP, PA -- This evening at 1900 hours, Tower 67 was alerted with units from 68, 715, 76, 65, 66,
and 84 to the 200 block of Pine Bridge Lane in the Wood’s Edge section of Manor Township for a townhouse
on fire. Tower 67 hit the street with a staffing of four with information from fire radio of a fire on the second
floor and that police are confirming a working fire. Tower 67 arrived on scene first, reporting a heavy smoke
condition. The interior crew made entry and completed a primary search that was negative; the crew then
located the fire on the second floor and worked on keeping the fire in check with a water can. The exterior
crew started placing ground ladders and clearing windows, while spending opening up the roof. The crew
from Engine 715-1 stretched a line to the second floor and quickly knocked the fire. Additional crews
assisted with opening up the roof and checking the exposure structures with any extension, with none
found the assignment was downgraded. Tower 67 remained on the scene for close to four hours to assist
with the investigation. During this time, Engine 671 handled a fire alarm in the first due with City Tower 2.

EAST HEMPFIELD TOWNSHIP, PA -- This morning at 1059 hours,
Engine 671 and Rescue Squad 23 (East Petersburg) were
alerted to 2106 Harrisburg Pike for a crash with injuries.
Engine 671 and Captain 67 (Schoenberger) were advised that
a vehicle struck the building with one injury. Truck 24 (Eden)
was added to the assignment after they advised they were
nearby. The crew from Engine 671 arrived and started
stabilizing on the vehicle and deployed a line for protection.
Truck 24 arrived and assisted with completing the
stabilization and started working on the extrication. Rescue
Squad 23 arrived and assisted the crew of Truck 24, with the
extrication being completed within a few minutes. The patient
was transported to the local trauma center for evaluation and
all units cleared the scene in 30 minutes.

One Trapped After Hitting Building, Lancaster County, PA 11.24.2008
Crews Work 2 Alarm Apartment Building, Lancaster County, PA 11.30.2008
WARWICK TOWNSHIP, PA -- On Sunday November 30th, Around 18:50 Hours BOX Alarm 210 was transmitted to
14 Church Street at the Rothsville School Apartments for the reported building on fire. First Alarm Units from
Rothsville (210), West Earl (313), Lititz (25), Ephrata Rescue Squad (115) along with EMS from 210 were
advised of smoke through-out an apartment on the first floor with alarm company receiving alarms through
out the building. Chief 210-2 arrived reporting heavy smoke on the first floor of the 2 story converted school
house. Chief 210 took the "Church Street" Command as Chief 210-2 advised him of a working fire in
apartment 201, Command transmitted the second alarm as first alarm units started to arrive. Crews from 210
went to work stretching a 1.75" line in through the Delta side of the building as the fire in the apartment
started to self vent from the windows on the Alpha/Bravo side of the building. Crews held the fire to the fire
apartment with smoke and water damage to multiple parts of the building. The PA State Police fire marshal
was called into the scene to investigate the fire as crews started overhaul and hitting hot spots.
